Description | AP World History Who should take this course? Students who have completed Global 1 and 2 and who are interested in an advanced course in World History. What will we be studying? The combined courses are designed to familiarize the student with the history of the world starting at 1200 CE and ending with modern day events. This course will prepare students to take the Advanced Placement World History examination. What will be expected of me? The course is geared so that the student does not just memorize historical facts but analyze them in order to see the multitude of different perspectives of each issue. Students are encouraged to participate in classroom discussions to the best of their ability. How is the course taught? Each teacher develops his or her own style or methodology of teaching. Nevertheless, lectures are not the norm. Rather, student-dominated lessons guided by the teacher are. Group activities, debates, press conferences, and mock trials are utilized. What are the completion requirements? Completing one's homework is essential to classroom discussion and is mandatory for each student.
